![]() Nuno Guimarães received his Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Sc. in Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon. He received his 'agregação' degree from the University of Lisbon, where he is currently Associate Professor. He was the head of the Multimedia and Interaction Techniques Group at INESC, Lisbon, from 1987 to 1997, and a Bell Laboratories consultant, from 1989 to 1991, at the Software Systems Principles Lab, Murray Hill, NJ. His general research interests are interactive systems including multimedia and hypermedia, collaborative environments and organizational computing, together with all the multidisciplinary issues that derive from the use of computers by people. ![]() Teresa Chambel is a teaching assistant and is completing her Ph.D. at University of Lisbon, where she also received her B.Sc. in Computer Science. She received her M.Sc. in Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon, on distributed hypermedia. She was a member of the Multimedia and Interaction Techniques Group at INESC, Lisbon, from 1992 to 1997, and has been involved in national and EC funded research projects. She was a member of the conference committee of ACM ECHT'94 European Conference on Hypermedia technology and co-chair of the Eurographics Multimedia'99 Workshop. Her research interests include multimedia and hypermedia, with a special emphasis on video and hypervideo, distributed systems and educational technology.
